A global technology business, Promethean is a pioneering manufacturer of interactive whiteboards, educational software and training and development services to teachers. Active in over 70 countries, and with products used by over five million pupils, Promethean retained SASS for the launch of Activclassroom, the category’s first complete interactive learning solutions concept.
The brief was to take the high ground of collaborative learning in the classroom, positioning the innovative range of products as enabling teachers to not only use technology to enhance teaching effectiveness but also assess pupils' understanding and knowledge - thus helping to deliver on the Government's aim of ensuring 'no child gets left behind'.
Our central idea, which supported a fully integrated offline and online campaign, focused on Activclassroom’s potential to 'transport' learners to anywhere their lessons took them. 'Where To This Time?' captured the notion of a learning space without walls, one where learners could interact and explore, whether it was in 'The Land of The Pharaohs', or in a 'Castle Fit For a Queen'. Direct mail and offline advertising targeted teachers and specifier / influencer groups, supported by e-PR, banners / MPUs, online content, email and exhibitions.
A 3D animated Activclassroom microsite, where users could select from the range of interactive products to create their own bespoke virtual classroom, underpinned the entire campaign. This then grew into a customer specification request and, since its launch, has been 'white-labeled' for use by Promethean re-sellers and incorporated into the company's main website.
