CLIENT: Venture Portraits
CAMPAIGN: Internal communications
SERVICES: DESIGN
Venture has a creative workforce of 1,200 employees across 80+ studios in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, its production facilities and its head office. As a franchised business, it faces many communications challenges and tasked SASS’ PR team with reviewing its internal communications in the context of launching a new look brand.

We worked with Venture to implement an internal communications audit to grasp the level of brand understanding of the Venture brand amongst the franchisee and employee base and to identify any gaps in communications. Ultimately our role was to aid the client in controlling and supporting communication of the brand to the end-consumer, seizing opportunities for Venture to improve two-way communications and enhancing understanding of the new brand strategy.

The brandiser comprised a series of questionnaires and workshops and to overcome the issues raised by it, SASS worked with Venture to launch an internal communications campaign. At the heart of this was Reveal, a new quarterly internal magazine showcasing the best work, behaviours and people in a creative, fun and engaging way.

Reveal was designed to align employee attitude and behaviour with Venture brand strategy, creating a raft of customer-facing brand ambassadors. A formalised editorial strategy ensured that all content was created with reader relevance and employee needs in mind and so that it didn't just talk at employees but interacted with them to keep things fresh. Every issue was designed to push the boundaries of what is expected of an internal newsletter, match expectations of a Venture communiqué and reflect the brand's creative characteristics.

Reveal has been recognised by the CIPR, achieving finalist status in the 2007 and 2008 Excellence Awards as well as being short listed for the 2007 and 2008 Pride Awards.
